When my 5 pieces kabuki face brushes started falling apart, I knew it was time for new brushes.I decided to purchase the Jessup 15 pieces brush set which is so loved and hyped by many. I have been using these brushes for over a week now and I think I can give them a fair review.
The set comes with 7 face brushes, 7 eye brushes and 1 lip brush.
- Large Powder
- Tapered Face
- Duo Fibre Powder/ Blush
- Tapered highlighter
- Large Concealer
- Large Fluff
- Large Concealer
- Tapered Blending
- Small Tapered Blending
- Flat Definer
- Short Shader
These brushes are surprisingly super soft and look so luxurious for the price. It comes in different colours, I got the grape and gold. Most of these brushes can be used for more than one function, you don’t necessarily have to use it for what it says it does.
This is my review of each brush and what I use it for.
Large Powder Brush: I love this for applying powder to set my entire face. It applies a sheer layer of powder without cakiness. It is now my favourite powder brush
Tapered Face Brush: I use this to apply blush to my cheeks. It can also be used to bronze the face.
Powder/Blush: I use it to apply my contour powder, it fits right in the hollow of my cheeks.
Duo Fibre Powder/Blush: It blended my cream contour like a dream. It gave it a natural, bronzy looking contour. It can also be used to apply foundation for a light to sheer coverage.
Tapered Highlighter: This is my HG (Holy Grail) highlighter brush. It applied it evenly. I prefer it to the fan brush. It can also be used to set the under eye or dust off excess powder from the under eye area.
Large Fluff: Perfect nose contour brush, also does a great job blending out eye primer and setting eye bases.
Large Concealer: For applying foundation or concealer on the face
Concealer: Perfect for applying shadows on the lid and shaping the eyebrow.
Blending: Perfect for applying transition colour to the crease and blending it, also perfect for contouring the nose.
Tapered Blending: Also perfect for applying transition colour and blending and deepening the crease for a more blown out look.
Small Tapered Blending: For applying shadow to the outer V, deepening and defining the crease and blending out shadow in the lower lash line.
Flat Definer: Perfect for shaping the eyebrow.
Short Shader: Perfect for blending out the lower lash line, applying inner tear duct and brow bone highlight.
Eyeliner: For wing liner
Lip Brush: Can be used to conceal or clean up around the lip for a more pouty lip, also perfect for applying shadow to the inner tear duct and brow bone highlight
Verdict: These brushes are definitely worth the hype and price. It is a very inexpensive brush set that does more than it costs. It is perfect for a beginner or even a professional makeup artist.
Price: I bought mine on Ebay from an authentic Jessup seller. for £13.70
