Hi Loves, welcome back to my blog. Shea Moisture sent me some products from their Jamaican Black Castor Oil range. I use the Leave-in Conditioner in this range and I love it so much, it is an holy grail for me. Seeing how much I love the Leave-in, I was so excited to try the shampoo and other products out. Today, I will be reviewing the “SHEA MOISTURE JAMAICAN BLACK CASTOR OIL STRENGTHEN & RESTORE SHAMPOO WITH PEPPERMINT & APPLE CIDER VINEGAR”. Long name I know, LOL. To know how I feel about it, keep reading.
Shea Moisture Claim: This Sulfate-free, clarifying shampoo removes buildup, while infusing hair with moisture. Perfect for those who regularly color, straighten, perm, or heat style their hair, as well as kinky, curly or wavy natural styles. Formulated with Jamaican Black Castor Oil and certified organic Shea Butter to encourage hair to grow longer by nourishing and strengthening damaged or chemically processed hair, reducing the appearance of breakage and shedding. Apple Cider Vinegar aids in regulating and balancing pH levels on the scalp, while softening hair to promote enhanced growth.
Ingredients: The main ingredients are Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Shea Butter, Peppermint and Apple Cider Vinegar.
How to Use: Apply to wet hair, gently massage from root to ends. Rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary.
- Packaging: it is packed in a clear cylindrical bottle, this makes it easy to see through the product to know how much used or left. It also makes it easy to hold in the shower without it slipping away. It has a flip-flop lid making dispensing it onto palm(s), hair and scalp easy.
- Consistency: It has a liquidy consistensy. It lathers so well when applied to wet hair. If you are not careful with this product, your whole bath will be filled with soap lather, take it from me, a little really goes a long way.
- Scent: its scent is so similar to the leave-in but milder. Very nice perfumey smell that doesn’t linger.
- This shampoo is a good, clarifying and inexpensive one, I really love it. It cleanse my hair without stripping it of its oils and moisture. My scalp felt so soft and squeaky clean after use. I love it more because of its ingredients which are Jamaican Black Castor Oil which repairs and strengthen hair; Peppermint, stimulate the scalp, promoting hair growth and Apple Cider Vinegar that regulates hair pH level and enhance hair growth. Although, it contains peppermint, it didn’t feel tingly on my scalp.
Verdict: Overall, I love this shampoo, from its scent, how it cleanse my hair, made my scalp feel and its ingredients. I am giving it a score of 5/5 because I can’t think of any cons.
Note: I always pre-poo my hair before shampooing.
