Welcome back to my blog Loves. Getting dark skin friendly blush and highlighters especially in the drugstore or affordable range can be difficult. Most of the time, we have to make them work on our skintone which they may come off ashy. In today’s post, I will be sharing with you TWO AFFORDABLE AND DARK SKIN FRIENDLY BLUSH PALETTES. They are the Sleek blush palettes in SUGAR & LACE
I’ve been using these palettes for more than a year now and I really love them. Recently, I find myself reaching for them more as I’ve been wearing more natural, dewy and skin-like makeup.
Packaging: They are both housed in compact plastic packagings with mirror (very clear, I love them). The are very sleek and sturdy like most sleek palettes. They don’t fall apart like some drugstore products packaging. I love this packaging so much because the whole palette itself is a size of my palm, yet it has so many product in each pan which I don’t think I can run out of. Each of them contain 20g of product.
Consistency: They are so soft to touch and apply onto skin. They are not patchy and they stay put for the whole day. They are not the most pigmented blushes or highlighters which is one of the reasons I love these palettes. It takes about 2-3 applications for them to show up, making them fool-proof. If you are light-skinned, you may need a lighter hand. The highlighters are my favourite. They are so soft and buttery. They have more of a sheen glow and no glitter.
Sleek Blush by 3 Palette in Sugar 364: It’s my favourite of the two palettes. It is the most dark skin friendly blush and highlighters palette I’ve ever used. The 3 colours in this palette are every black girls dream. They melt right into my skin for a natural blush and glow from within kind of highlight.
- Turbinado is a matte deep berry blush shade
- Muscavo is a shimmery deep bronze highlight shade with fuschia undertone
- Demerara is a matte dark orange blush shade.
I love how these colours complement one another. Although, it doesn’t look like they do at first sight until I started using them. I love to mix the two matte blush shades (Turbinado & Demerara) together for a beautiful natural flush on the cheeks, and the highlighter (Muscavo) is the most natural looking highlight for dark to deep skin tones.
Sleek Blush Palette in LACE: is not as dark skin friendly as the sugar palette. It’s a very peachy palette. It has 2 matte peach shades and a shimmer rose gold highlighter shade.
- Crochet: is a matte peachy shade. This shade is too light for my skintone. It’s more suitable for medium to fair skin tone.
- Guipure: is a shimmery rose gold shade which most people say is a dupe for Nars Orgasm blush like the rose gold blush.
- Chantilly: is a matte peach shades with orange undertone. It’s darker than Crochet and more suitable for dark skin.
I love to mix the two matte shades for blush and the highlighter in here is more intense than Muscavo from the sugar palette.
I really love these palettes and they are a steal for their prices. They cost £8.99 each on amazon. If you are on the market for good quality affordable blushes & highlighteres, you should check these out.
